About Us
I Started Rising Tide Development in 2018 after several years of development work with other companies. My experience is in land development, vertical construction and countless hours working with the city of Cedar Falls planning and zoning and city councils. I volunteered and served 3 years on the planning and zoning commission for the city of Cedar Falls before stepping down. I was one of the founding board members of the Cedar Falls Economic Development Corporation and served on their executive committee for the first 2 years of existence. The Cedar Falls EDC is making a great impact in Cedar Falls development and exciting things are to come.
I have been a licensed real estate agent for 15 years. I got my brokers license in 2016 and started a new brokerage that same year. I partnered with my brother in law, Andrew Schoof, and we are the co-owners and brokers at Structure Real Estate. Our firm has over 25 agents working under the brand.
I could not be successful in what I do without my wife, Samantha. Not only is she the CEO of our household (and really, really good at it!), she helps out with various aspects of our businesses. She is also an elite marathon runner, who qualified for the olympic trials in 2020! I have two children, Elin (11) and Joey (8) that are also my pride and joy! They are into all sorts of sports, chasing/catching animals and fishing.
Growing up in Cedar Falls and living here for 39 years of my life, I enjoy seeing progress in my hometown and feel fortunate to be able to be a part of that progress each year. Anything I can do to help this community offer more amenities and a better quality of life, I am all in!

John Horstman, Project Manager - John is our project manager and is in the field every day. He is our field expert and has 15 years of industry experience in several different capacities. John has been with the company for 3 years. He served 4 years active duty and 4 years inactive reserve in the United States Marine Corps. He selflessly served our great nation in 2 combat tours in Iraq. John enjoys his free time spending time with his son Gunnar and traveling to NE Iowa to enjoy life on the Mississippi River.
Samantha Wingert, CFO - Samantha serves in several capacities for the company, but spends the majority of her time making sure the company's finances are in order. She also puts her design touches on many of our projects. Although she won't admit it, she has a great design eye. Samantha spends countless hours per week running outdoors where she finds her peace. Her and Brian have two wonderful kids, Elin and Joey.
